About the band:
The Southern Storm Band was formed in 1982 as the Country Ways Band and  continues making true traditional country music today.  Don  Whaley still enjoys playing the same kind of pure country music that excited him in '82'. Don's ( lead singer and rhythm guitar) style is influenced by such country greats as Merle Haggard, George Jones, George Strait, Gene Watson, Randy Travis and Alan Jackson just to name a few.  June Whaley (Don's wife), joined the band some years later adding a lady's vocal and harmony and is still an important part of the band today. Tim Tyner, one of the best steel guitar players in the business has been with the band for many years and remains a very valuable member of the family. You won't hear better country steel anywhere. Dale Borden, Bass guitar and vocals,joined the band many years ago and with Jason on the drums, gives the band a truly enviable rythem section. Jason Smith recently joined the band as drummer. Jason is a very talented drummer and has many years of experience playing with some of the best musicians in the area.   Lynn Parker , lead guitar and vocals has performed with some of the best and truly brings excitement to the band with great guitar licks and perfect vocals. You can always expect  true country music played the way it was meant to be played when Don, June, Jason, Tim, Dale and Lynn take the stage. If you love good country music then you won't be disappointed with this talented lineup!
Sound man Rick Watson will make sure the sound is just the way you like it! Rick is a very talented musician in his own rite fronting his three piece combo as Rick Cornfield and composing hundreds of songs for many years  spending quite some time in Nashville, Tn. He is a graduate of the Peavey school of sound.
